Everything you need to know about ordering, collecting and enjoying your Mercy’s Cakes order.

How far in advance should I place my order?

Orders require a minimum of 7 days’ notice. This helps ensure there is enough time to prepare your order.

Can I order a custom cake?

Yes. Mercy’s Cakes offers custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, baby showers and other special occasions.

When is my order confirmed?

All orders are subject to availability. Full payment is required to confirm and secure your booking, and orders are not confirmed until payment has been received.

Can I share an inspiration image for my cake?

Yes, inspiration images are welcomed. However, every cake is handcrafted and unique, so exact replicas cannot be guaranteed. Minor variations in colour, decoration and finish may occur.

Can I choose additional decorations or add-ons?

Yes. Available add-ons and decorations vary depending on the type of cake and can include items such as toppers, flowers, decorative elements, pearls, butterflies, edible prints, gold or silver finishing and other design features. Additional charges apply to selected add-ons.

Can I add a message to my cake?

Yes. The message box for every cake has a maximum limit of 20 characters.

What fillings are available?

The available fillings are:

  • Vanilla buttercream
  • Vanilla buttercream with strawberry jam
  • Vanilla buttercream with lemon curd
  • Vanilla buttercream with biscoff
  • Cookies and cream buttercream
  • Chocolate buttercream
  • White chocolate buttercream
What types of cakes and treats do you offer?

Mercy’s Cakes offers:

  • Custom Celebration Cakes
  • Vintage Cakes
  • Cupcakes

  • Cake Cups
  • Cake Pops
Are your cakes freshly made?

Yes. Cakes are freshly baked and made to order.

Where do I collect my order?

All orders are collected from the home cake studio in Ballincollig, Cork. The collection address will be provided once your order has been confirmed.

What are the collection times?

Monday – Friday: 3pm to 6pm
Saturday – Sunday: 12pm to 2pm

What are the delivery times?

Monday – Friday: 2pm to 4pm
Saturday – Sunday: 2pm to 4pm

How much does delivery cost?
  • Within Cork City: €20
  • County Cork: €30

Mercy’s Cakes does not deliver outside of Cork, with the exception of wedding cakes.

When should I arrange delivery?

Delivery must be arranged when placing your order and is subject to availability.

Can I choose a date that is unavailable?

No. The ordering system requires a minimum 7-day lead time, and unavailable or blocked dates cannot be selected.

Do your products contain allergens?

Our products may contain or come into contact with:

  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Wheat (Gluten)
  • Soy
  • Peanuts
  • Tree Nuts

Mercy’s Cakes operates from a home cake studio where these allergens are present. Although every effort is made to minimise cross-contamination, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely allergen-free.

How should I store my cake?

Keep your cake refrigerated unless advised otherwise and follow the storage instructions provided with your order.

How should I transport my cake?

Cakes should be transported on a flat, level surface.

When should I take my cake out before serving?

Remove your cake from the fridge approximately 1–2 hours before serving for the best flavour and texture.

Who is responsible for the cake after collection or delivery?

Once your order has been collected or successfully delivered, Mercy’s Cakes accepts no responsibility for damage caused by transportation, storage or handling.

Can I cancel my order?

As every order is made specifically for you, cancellations should be made as early as possible.

Orders cancelled 14 days or more before the collection or delivery date may receive a full refund.

Orders cancelled within 14 days of the collection or delivery date are non-refundable, as ingredients, preparation and production may already have begun.

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the perishable and customised nature of our products, refunds are not offered once an order has been collected or delivered.

Refunds will only be issued if:

  • Mercy’s Cakes is unable to fulfil your order; or
  • A fault has been determined to be the responsibility of Mercy’s Cakes.
Can I change my collection or delivery date?

Date changes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

What should I do if I am unhappy with my order?

Please contact Mercy’s Cakes within 24 hours of collection or delivery, including photographs where appropriate, so the issue can be investigated and a fair resolution considered.

Please note that taste preferences, slight colour differences and minor variations from inspiration images are not considered faults, as every cake is individually handcrafted.

What should I do if I am unhappy with my order?
